The text on the tablet is Greek: Mellonta Tauta
-"The things are in the near future".
Ideally, Daffy should represent Music, but I wanted to have Maganda in
the centre, and to balance off the lyre with the larger cithara.
In this issue, I made a big jump in my production methods. Apart from two pages of pencils for Space Lord, all the strips were drawn entirely on the computer. I also took the opportunity to use greyscale shading instead of the dot tones I'd been using before. Having produced a few colour pages during the year, I opted to have a full colour centre spread (The Canals of Mars).
